Jonah’s Seafood House first opened in 1986, as the culmination of Terry and Pattie Waldschmidt’s desire to create a unique fine dining experience along the left bank of the Illinois River. Terry brought with him years of experience in the restaurant business, where he acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to produce the finest seafood and prepare it to perfection. From that original idea, their desire to continue to expand their offerings has since led to the creation of the 2601 Oyster Bar and the Market & Bake Shop.
We know restaurants and we know you. The owner and operators of Jonah’s Seafood House, the 2601 Oyster Bar, and the Market & Bake Shop span three generations of a local Central Illinois family. We are proud to continue providing a unique dining experience to the greater Peoria area for over 35 years.
From our fresh seafood to our attempts to provide the best possible service, our goal has always been to show that, when done correctly, a fantastic dining experience is not some privilege reserved for those in massive cities.
